From the Latin word augustus, meaning "consecrated" or "auspicious," we couldn’t help but acknowledge that the month of August 2025 has lived up to its name. Zone 22 saw the highest level of membership goals reported on myRotary by clubs during this month, cheered on by the tirelessly work of the three-year Strategic Plans Teams who organized three engaging regional seminars held for all Governors and Assistants as well as all Club President’s Troika.
Under the leadership of Director Daniel Tanase and more inspiration from Trustee Ijeoma Pearl Okoro and Rotary International Director Elect Emmanuel Katongole, Zone 22 is on the path toward hitting its membership targets. Just when the month was coming to an end, Africa received the joyful news of having one of its own selected to the position of Rotary International President-Elect. RIPE Olayinka (Yinka) has been the doyen of an intentional, eyes-on-the-ball approach to growing membership across the continent. All of us join hands together in welcoming the good news, and congratulating him.
We are confident that the years ahead for Rotary will be an experience all members have been waiting for. August indeed brought many gifts to Africa. Together, let's Unite For Good!
