As part of its commitment to improving access to quality healthcare under its signature project Mother and Child Care, the Rotary Club of Muthaiga North successfully conducted inspections and delivered vital medical equipment to three key facilities: Mbooni Hospital in Makueni County, Consolata School in Embu County, and Rumuruti in Laikipia County.
The initiative began with a thorough inspection exercise to ensure all medical equipment met the required standards and specifications. The equipment, which includes essential tools for maternal and child health services, was carefully assessed for functionality, safety, and readiness for deployment. This step reaffirmed the club’s dedication to accountability, quality assurance and sustainability in every project it undertakes.
At Mbooni Hospital, the equipment delivery was received with immense gratitude from the hospital management and local health officials. The machines will significantly boost maternal health services, especially in prenatal and neonatal care, ensuring that mothers and newborns receive the attention they deserve.
The next stop was Consolata School in Embu, where the Rotary team also engaged with community members and educators. The delivery here symbolized our broader vision of health and education working hand in hand to foster healthier and more resilient communities.
Finally, the journey concluded at Rumuruti in Laikipia, a region where access to quality healthcare remains a challenge. The equipment delivered will directly support the local health center in expanding its capacity to serve mothers and children more effectively. The warm reception and appreciation from local leaders and residents reminded us why service above self remains the heart of Rotary.
This coordinated effort across three counties reflects the club’s enduring commitment to Rotary’s area of focus on Maternal and Child Health. It also underscores the power of partnership, planning, and shared purpose. Through such initiatives, we continue to touch lives, strengthen health systems, and bring hope to families in need.
Indeed, the successful inspection and delivery exercise marks another proud milestone in our journey to create lasting change, one community, one mother, and one child at a time.
