The Rotary Club of Athi River in District 9212 partnered with the Rotary Club of Westport in District 7980 to apply for Rotary Global Grant Scholarship.
Jimmy Musili , who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Athi River in District 9212 and the Rotary Club of Westport in District 7980 through a Rotary Global Grant Scholarship has completed his Master of Environmental Management at Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA.

His sponsorship was in alignment with one of Rotary International’s focus areas, the environment. Jimmy  specialized in Ecosystem Management and Conservation, as well as People Equity and Environment, as he had seen the need to consider local communities as part of the ecosystem where conservation is undertaken. This accomplishment equips him with skills and experiences that will push environmental conservation, especially in the Global South, to the next level.

``We are pleased to report that we have officially and successfully closed the grant with the Rotary Foundation, having supported Mr Musili all the way to the end of his studies. We celebrate both the completion of his studies and the closure of the grant,’’ Rotary Club of Athi River President James Njagi said.

This grant has not only empowered a bright young scholar to access world-class education but also enabled him to build meaningful relationships with both sponsoring clubs. Mr. Musili has a promising future, and we are confident that the conservation space—and indeed the world—will greatly benefit from his contributions.

This success reflects the spirit of Rotary in advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through education, health and poverty alleviation.
