In a world that too often feels divided, our theme — Unite for Good — is more than a call to action. It is a call to transformation

My Dear Rotary Friends,
In a world that too often feels divided, our theme — Unite for Good — is more than a call to action. It is a call to transformation. Because true peace, the kind that endures, doesn’t begin on the battlefield or at negotiation tables — it begins within each of us.
Peace comes from within. When we choose to lead with compassion instead of control, when we listen with the intent to understand rather than reply, we are sowing the seeds of harmony in our communities. That inner peace becomes contagious. It radiates through our words, our actions, and our decisions.
In Rotary, we hold a special power — the power to not react in anger, to not escalate a conflict, to not divide. Instead, we choose kindness. We choose patience. We choose dignity. And at the end of the day, what truly matters is how much friendship and love we spread around us. That is the legacy we build — not in titles or trophies, but in the lives we touch and the bridges we build.
That’s why today, I invite each of you to take an important step: Encourage your clubs to declare themselves “Free of Disputes Clubs” in 2025–2026. Let this be a commitment — not to perfection, but to dialogue over division, to reconciliation over resentment, and to unity over ego.
This spirit of peace is not only good for our hearts — it is good for Rotary’s future. In Africa, where the Rotary family is growing faster than anywhere else, peace within our clubs will strengthen our unity, attract more members, and allow us to focus our energy on solving the continent’s most pressing needs — from clean water and education to health care and economic opportunity. A united Rotary in Africa can become an unstoppable force for good in the African community. And above all the incredible projects Africa is already known for, here are three objectives that can make Africa admired by the entire Rotary world:
• Continue to grow membership at an inspiring pace, showing the world the energy and passion of African Rotarians.
• Achieve 100% giving clubs to The Rotary Foundation, demonstrating Africa’s generosity and commitment to service.
• Lead the world in transitioning Rotaractors to Rotary, building a new generation of leaders and changemakers.
Let us UNITE FOR GOOD — not just as a slogan, but as a daily practice. Because when we unite for good, we build peace. And when we build peace, we transform the world — one heart, one club, one community at a time. I look forward to seeing you all in September, in Brussels for our Institute, at the Fusion Summit.
