After years of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Interactors from across District 9212 will gather in Malindi for a landmark event that marks a new chapter in youth leadership and service.

The post-Covid period brought unprecedented challenges to schools and youth organizations. Strict academic calendars and prolonged interruptions led to many Interact clubs losing contact with their Rotary sponsor clubs. Some clubs became inactive, others were suspended, and several were eventually terminated by Rotary International. As a result, the rhythm and vibrancy that once characterized Interact activities across the district were significantly affected.
Under the theme "Dare to Grow," the Malindi Conference seeks to reignite the Interact spirit and position young people at the forefront of service and leadership. The conference is guided by three key objectives:

The gathering aims to reconnect Interactors, strengthen existing clubs, and inspire the revival of dormant clubs across the district. It is an opportunity to restore enthusiasm, fellowship, and commitment to service.

Interact and Rotaract remain vital pathways to Rotary membership growth. By ensuring that young people enjoy a positive and transformative Interact experience during their school years, Rotary can nurture future leaders and members who will sustain and grow the organization for generations to come.

Approximately 300 delegates are expected to attend the conference in Malindi. The event will provide a platform for young people to discuss topical issues affecting teenagers today and develop solutions from their own perspectives. Their ideas, energy, and innovation will help promote Rotary values while contributing to the development of a responsible and service-minded generation.
