The global hand washing celebration was aimed at enhancing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities in learning institutions. Hence the activities conducted include; Health education on matters of WASH(water sanitation and hygiene) 
Distribution of soaps, and sanitizers to students and teachers
Distribution of IEC(information, education and communication) materials on handwashing

The project was able to impact approximately 936 students in 5 schools(Keveye primary, Gisambai primary, Musantzi high school, Kaimosi special school, and Kaimosi Friends University).936 students in the 5 schools were distributed soap and hand sanitizers. Additionally, the 936 students were reached with key Water, Sanitation, and hygiene messages to enable promote positive behavior change. Lastly, the project identified unmet WASH needs in the 5 schools to have an evidence-based plan and framework for future WASH projects in schools. Through the D9212 district, we received 960 pieces of lifebuoy soap,492 pieces of lifebuoy hand sanitizers and 15 pieces of geisha hand washing soap from Unilever, and 200 USD matching from the club. The project was a success following the support of Unilever, Rotary Club of Siaya, Rotary District 9212, Ministry of Health-Vihiga, Hon. Frankline Muhindi and Hon. Eric Odei
