In Athi Kapiti, the land tells a story. Lately, it’s been a story of drought and challenge. But we are People of Action, and our role is to help write a new chapter, one of restoration, life, and lasting change. On Mazingira Day, on October 10, together a new chapter begins.
The Rotary Club of Athi Kapiti, together with the Rotary Clubs of Lavington Eco and Kabete and the Rotaract Clubs of Eco Warriors and Athi River, invites you to a landmark Mazingira Day event. This is more than a project; it's the birth of a future wildlife recreation center, an eco-sanctuary for our community.
Your hands will make a tangible difference through:
· Planting 1000 Legacies with Maanzoni Million Tree Challenge and Lukenya University Ten Million tree planting challenge. We will put seedlings into the earth, fighting back against the drought. But we promise to nurture them, using a tree-tracking app to ensure each one grows into a mighty tree.
· Restore Our Waters at Lukenya Hill Dam Site. We’ll bring life back to a local dam by releasing hundreds of catfish and mudfish fingerlings, envisioning the day we return to fish and feast by its restored shores.

· Become a Citizen Scientist. In the quiet act of bird watching and counting, you’ll gather crucial data for conservation while finding a deeper connection to nature.
· Segregate for a Cleaner Future with Kiseki Ltd. We’ll place waste segregation bins, a simple act for a sustainable space.
We are incredibly grateful for our partners like CFAO Foundation, and we are especially honored that the Kenya Editors Guild will join us. They are coming to witness and tell the story of what happens when a community unites, a story we are proud to share. As the sun sets, we’ll celebrate our fellowship and shared accomplishment with live music from DJ Rev and a Saxophonist, Smith Reed.
