Rotary International

Effective July 1, 2026, Rotary District 9212 will comprise two new Districts; 9215 and 9216, marking an end to 13 years of District 9212.
District 9215 will comprise of Kenya (Western region, including the Rift Valley and Western Nairobi) and South Sudan. District 9216 will comprise of Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Kenya (Central Highlands and Eastern regions, including Coast region and Eastern Nairobi).
District 9212 currently has 3,727 Rotarians and 2,096 Rotaractors. The District has 110 honorary Rotarians and 141 honorary Rotaractors. There are a total of 267 clubs, comprising of 146 Rotary Clubs and 119 Rotaract Clubs. There are also two satellite Rotary Clubs.
Following consent by 90% of clubs to undertake a redistricting process in 2023/2024, District 9212 submitted to Rotary International a proposal to redistrict for due consideration and approval.
During their October 2024 meeting, the Rotary International Board reviewed the recommendations of the Redistricting Committee and acknowledged the remarkable growth and ongoing efforts within District 9212. As a result, the Board approved the division of District 9212 into two new districts, effective July 1, 2026.
The Executive Committee (ExCo) of Rotary District 9212 is headed by George Mathenge for the year 2025/26. Other Members of the team include District Governor Wairimu Njage, Vice Governor Azeb Asrat and District Rotaract Representative Peter Mwarangu.
The 28-member team includes District Governor Elect for District 9215 in-formation, Saad Rahman, District Governor Elect for District 9216 in-formation, Esayas Yeyesuswork, District Governor Nominee for District 9215 in-formation, James Mwangi, District Governor Nominee for District 9216 in-formation, Dr. Patrisio Njeru, Country Chairs for Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan as well committee chairs for various dockets.
