Submission of District 9212 Awards now open

Submissions for the District 9212 Awards is now open. Clubs have until Sunday 10th April 2022 to submit their entries.
District Governor Alex Nyaga will recognise Rotary Clubs for their extraordinary achievement during the District Conference and Assembly (DISCON) that will be held on 12-15th May 2022 in Diani, Kwale County.
The objective of this year’s Awards will be to recognize, honour efforts and activities that will be seen to make clubs stronger, communities better, and improve the public image of Rotary.
Terms and Conditions:
To participate, Rotary Clubs must meet the following:
- Club and/or individual should be in good standing
- The Club’s profile must be updated on My Rotary
- A Club is allowed to submit ONLY one entry per award
- All entries will be assessed by a panel of esteemed judges that have been carefully selected by the District leadership.
How to make your submission
There will be 15 Awards. Club Presidents can download the forms from the District website and email the form to: Carole Kimutai, District Awards Officer. Email: awards@rotary9212.org before the deadline.

Honouring Sam Owori
The Awards have been named the Sam Owori Awards in honour of the late Rotary International President-elect Sam F. Owori.
“Rotary has become a way of life for me – with the intrinsic value and core belief in mutual responsibility and concern for one another as a cornerstone,” Sam said when he was nominated. “I feel immense satisfaction knowing that through Rotary, I’ve helped someone live better.”

When is the deadline for submitting an entry?
The deadline is on the midnight of Sunday 10th April 2022. Email your entries to: awards@rotary9212.org
How many entries can a Club submit?
A Rotary Club can submit only ONE entry in the categories listed. Just make sure you STRICTLY follow the instructions on the form and put all the information in the WORD document that will be shared by the District office and uploaded on the website.
What are the things that can/will disqualify an entry?
- False/inaccurate information.
- Lack of providing enough/crucial information.
- Submitting after the deadline of Sunday 10th April, 2022.
What is the format of submitting an entry?
- Use a word document and include everything in the document.
- Avoid sending many attachments.
- Be as detailed as possible as this is the information the Judges will use to make a decision.
- Email your entries to: awards@rotary9212.org
How do I submit an entry for my club?
- Download the entry form for the category you wish to enter from the District website.
- Provide all the information on a Word document.
- Email your entry to: awards@rotary9212.org before the midnight of Sunday 10th April 2022.
Who will judge the entries?
A panel of distinguished individuals have been carefully selected. They include Rotarians and non-Rotarians.
The deadline is 10th April 2022, yet the Rotary year ends on June 30th. What happens to the things we will do in the last three months?
We are aware of this fact. The Awards are part of the District Conference and Assembly that will be held on 12-15th May. Provide as much information as you can based on the guidelines given. Remember to follow the four tests.
