One of the most visually stunning highlights of the week was the “Art for Advocacy” session. In a beautiful display of collaboration, members from the Rotaract Club of Menen and the Rotaract Club of Hawassa joined forces for a vibrant art competition. Participants used their brushes to amplify the message of International Women’s Week, translating complex themes of resilience, leadership, and beauty into striking visual narratives.
The Rotaract Club of Menen, in a vibrant display of service and fellowship, recently concluded a transformative four-day program celebrating International Women’s Week. Running from March 23 to March 26, the series of events was designed to honor the legacy of female leadership while equipping a new generation with the tools and inspiration to thrive.

The journey began with a powerful look into the past. Day one set a high bar for reflection, as participants gathered to watch a documentary honouring the legacy of fearless leaders such as Empress Tayitu. This exploration of history served as more than just a lesson; it was a reminder to every young woman in the room of the strength carried in her DNA. The energy quickly shifted from reflection to active connection during interactive sessions, where participants shared their personal voices, dreams, and brilliance, turning a simple gathering into a grassroots movement.

As the week progressed, the focus moved toward the future of women empowerment. In collaboration with the TSINAT SRHR Project, the club hosted deep-dive discussions on reproductive health and rights, ensuring that empowerment was backed by essential knowledge and self-care.

This wasn't merely a contest; it was a testament to how creativity can be a powerful tool for social change.

The program reached its grand finale on March 26, leaving participants feeling empowered and more connected to their community than ever. By combining historical reflection, health literacy, and creative expression, the Rotaract Club of Menen successfully showcased that the story of a woman’s strength is best told when her voice is heard and her creativity is celebrated. As the echoes of the week fade, the impact of these shared moments continues to inspire a future where every woman is empowered to lead.
